I created this Vision Board from an exercise I learned about while getting my certification from the Vision Board Institute. It was a eye opener for me and one I can see pass before my consciousness as I feel the manifestation of the images on this board.

I am adding to this post today two years after the original post. I ask myself this question as I looked at my old post,

Is it really that simple to find answer to all things by looking within ourselves ?

We came into the world as a container and have filled ourselves with the diversity of experience of all kinds and a extraordinary variety of emotions like the following gathered from the Abraham-Hicks emotional scale.

“joy, knowledge, empowerment, freedom, love, appreciation, passion, enthusiasm, eagerness, happiness, positive expectation, belief, optimism, hopefulness, contentment, boredom, pessimism, frustration, irritation, impatience, overwhelment, disappointment, doubt, worry, blame, discouragement, anger, revenge, hatred, rage, jealousy, insecurity, guilt, unworthiness, fear, grief, depression, despair, powerlessness.”

Now that our cup is filled with these emotional experiences

We can take a moment to reflect on what we have learned

We can stop and smell the aroma the intoxicating brew that all life experiences mixed together as they blend with the air surronding us.

We can relax and sit back in our chair and take in the surrounding view as we drink out of the cup of life’s challenges and wisdom.

We can take life’s brew into our bodies sip by delicious sip tasting the existance we alone created by the choices we made.

Since two years has past many things have changed I am not the same person I feel more joyful, excited and energetically engaged with life on a moment to moment basis.

Helpful steps to experiencing the emotions you want to experience

Remember you never step in the river in the same place it is always moving and evolving

Put you boat in the river with the idea that you will find a way to go with the current

Coaching helps you reset emotions that no longer serve you.

Remember you were put on the earth to thrive and find ways to feel good that will benefit you and others.

And yes, it really is that simple to find answer to all things by looking within ourselves.

“Acrylic Abstract”

Daily Creative flow today was a flowing acrylic pour. I already have a lot of ideas for the next step. This way is sure fun. Tomorrow I will develop it further. I am quite excited to see what happens. The Painting is 16″x20″ on stretch canvas.

I showed my students this piece and explained how the technique was achieved and how there are four Daily Painters that I am associated with in the process of daily painting as way of developing creatively through creative self-discipline. This is not work but fun I explained to them and sharing it with others of like mind is like a trip to the candy store every day. To my absolute surprise two students said Sandra, “when I grow up I want to be just like you” I guess that says Creating all the time is a good life. and a good path to follow if it appeals to the youth of today. Art is truly the sweets of life.

“Landscape with Color Notes”

My daily painting today was an interesting exercise in color notes. This is a term used by Henry Henshe of the Cape School of Art in Provincetown. This link explains more about the Cape School of Art and founder, Charles Hawthorne and many other artist who attended the school. Lois Griffel talks about the school on her website and I quote from her website. “My eyes were opened to seeing ‘the light” by the great artist and teacher, Henry Hensche. Hensche dedicated his life’s work to the principles of Impressionism and did not consider it a separate painting approach. I believe, as he did, that Impressionism is the universal foundation of beautiful color in all contemporary painting today.”

I enjoy studing the artist who have their roots in this school and to observe how it influenced their own personal work. My daily painting today was to take one of Susan Sarbacks color notes exercises and expand it into a landscape showing the steps explained in her book.

Today’s Daily was a demonstration for my student. When students can see a step by step demonstrations it helps them with their own vision.

“Cat in the Window”

Daily today was a pastel still life from my kitchen table. I had set up the still life and my cat jumped up on the window and I painted him in as well. Daily painting has brought about many special moments like this.

Daily Painting to me is about what’s going on in my world of art: daily paintings, art, my process, and my thoughts about art in general. I have a commitment with two other painters to email a daily painting by 9:00pm every day. There are no rules and this creative penatration of daily painting has greatly inflenced my daily life and art has started to grow in tremendous and unexpected ways.

Forensics Sketch

My daily painting is a sketch from a resource that talks about how forensics artists make a likeness from a skeleton. It is an interesting science and very helpful to the artist learning about proportions of the facial features. I think I finally understand cheekbones.

“U.S. Capitol, Washington DC” Daily Painting

We live in such interesting times. I took the subject of the week from
“Different Strokes from Different Folks” This is a internet site where the site host posts a photograph and artists use their Artist interpretation to create wonderful works of art. There is 45 to 65 artist that post. It is very interesting to see all the different takes on the same subject. The subject for this week was “The U.S. Capitol, Washington DC”

The U.S. Capitol, Washington DC…The painting practically painted itself…The sun in the bottom of the painting has a small right hand of one of my young students. She was happy to have her hand used. The painting is about hope for the future, hope for the young generation, and hope for the next seven generations. The hand wanted to be painted green. But it does look a little like E.T. ‘s hand. When a painting talks to me like this one I let it have its way and don’t try to second guess. As one of my daily painting friends said “when you are creating everyday you don’t have time to get precious”. Do it and get it out there. Make way for another day tomorrow.

“Impressionist Cloudy Day Landscape”

“Cloudy Day Impressionist Landscape”

Daily Painting today was a 3″x5″ Pastel on Wallis Paper. I used pastel pencils and with the memory of Sauvie’s Island set down this painting. I took inspiration from Lois Griffel’s “Painting the Impressionist Landscape” using the color scheme from the cloudy day block studies in her book. I felt pleased with the results and when I took my nightly review of my day where I ask myself “what did you enjoy most today”. This landscape came in at the top of my list. As Lois says on her site “once you enter the impressionist landscape you never go back“.
