My site is going through transformation with a theme that is compatible with the e-commerce plugin from Word Press. Word Press is a wonderful content management system and I have confidence that I will be able to fine tune this new development with my site. The new theme is called “Word Press Store Front” by Word Press Art. Similar to creating art, learning new skills with the computer is a challenge but the results are very satisfying. I am also able to offer art prints, art framed prints, art posters, and art greeting cards at my on line gallery on Fine Art America.
Today I wrote to the two other daily painters that this is a good journey. To be creating everyday has changed my focus. It feels very good even when I am not feeling good.
It was another beautiful Fall day but I set up in my class room studio and copied one of Susan Sarback’s Paintings out of her book “Capturing Radiant Light and Color”. I have been using her suggested palette for sometime and have her DVD’s but found it very valuable today to copy her marks. I hope to take one of her workshops in Fair Oaks, California.

"Future Parents"
Today I painted for the Art House Co-op Sketch Book Project. This is an acrylic painting of my parents when I was just a tiny spark in their eyes.
I finished this painting today today in the studio of the Steigerwald Lake Wild Life Refuge in Washougal, Washington. I have been studying Camile Przewodek’s work since I took her workshop last month and can see the influence in this painting.
It’s been a couple of months since my last posts. I intend to catch up with the news of the last few months. I have been doing a lot of painting and creative work but havn’t been posting. I was sharing daily creativity with other artists but our little group wasn’t active and I soon lost my momentum to post. I could see a difference in my own creative flow as well and am considering starting a group for daily creativity on facebook.
Daily Painting is my Cousin Frank Hecker for the Art House Gallery Project. Theme “Everyone We Know”. 3.5″x5″
The Scrap Book Project is sponsored by the Art House and consists of being sent a sketchbook by Art House and then you make the art around a theme. The theme this time is “Everyone you know”. Then Art House is taking all the sketchooks on a 6 city tour to galleries and museums across the U.S. The goal of the exhibition is to encourage anyone to create artwork and build a collective of sketch books made by artists from all over the world.

"Nobel Prize"
Daily today was on the rose painting. I thought the rose looked nobel so I entitled the painting “Nobel Prize”. Oil painting on “18×24″ stretch canvas.
Today I set up a still life with a red vase. I just love these little paintings; this one is 6″x8″ RayMar Canvas Panel. They are like little precious jewels. Who needs diamonds when they can paint? Perhaps there would never be a blood diamond in our history if what we really valued was art.

"Figure Drawing Class"
Today’s Daily Painting is the “Draw Class” sponsored by the Portland Plein Air of Portland and taught by Kitty Wallis. I feel more successful every class. We are learning many exciting drawing techniques that are helpful for my drawing skills.
The Class is exploring the techniques of Nicolas Carone using his text book “The Natural Way to Draw” and Nicholas Carone techniques through Kitty Wallis’s guidance.
Daily today was draw Class a must for artists to increase their drawing skills. Good drawing is under all good art. Today I painted a still life in my home studio. I wanted to work with color compliments and shadows. I chose orange and blue. As I worked through the color notes and sat gazing at this still life I saw more and more subtle shapes within the images. It was like a whole new world was revealed.
Complementary Colors when placed next to each other make each other appear brighter and more intense. The shadow of an object will also contain its complementary color For example, the shadow of a green apple will contain some red and the shadows of my orange would have some blue and the blue would have some orange.
Another world long ago began going through my mind. I once worked for Rexall Drug Company and I realized that orange and blue were their colors. Color can spark association of ideas and the memory blanks.
I think that is a good reason to create a work of art to stimulate memories and learn new things about yourself and the world.

"Kendal's New Family"
Daily Painting today is Colored Pencil Drawing “The Kendal Hilden Family”, for the Art House Gallery Project. Theme “Everyone We Know”. 3.5″x5″ by Sandra Longmore

Have you wished that you could afford an original painting? Check out Fine Art America for my oil painting canvas prints.
Painting is labor intensive and the artist asking price isn’t always within ones reach. Today with the internet and digital photography you can own prints and other items with your favorite item on it. They are wonderful quality and fit anyone’s budget.
Laura shared her sketches from her recent trip to Poland. She had a handmade sketch book made of watercolor paper. She worked mainly with pen and ink. She went with a group of artists which made the trip an extra special treat for an artist.
My Daily is a sketch of two “Hospital Faries” done in the SW Washington ER. Sitting waiting to find out what is wrong with my mother’s arm. After watching all that goes on in the ER and the Dr. getting the wrong patient confused with my mom, also writing down the wrong arm , and to top it off the wrong name when we first checked in…I figured these Faries were either messing with everyone and having a good time….or they were there to help. Anyway here they are and it was a most interesting day of human drama. I was glad to sketch them it lightened my mood.
