Today I worked on the Rose Painting. I took inspiration on the color notes from Lois Griffel’s Book “The Impressionist Landscape”…I then changed the shadow color to yellow ochre and Indian Yellow, and scumbled with cerlean Blue. Then painting yelows without all the white for the highlights and secondary colors. I like the changes. Everytime I pick up books on the “color notes” from Lois Griffel, Susan Sarback, or Vicki McMurry’s “Mastering Color” I get wonderful advice on color. I still will put in more studio time on the painting.
