I went to Sauvie’s Island Wild Life Refuge on Saturday with my Jef Gunn Plein Air Class. We had a great day even though it rained and rained and we all were cuddled up in the dry end of the wild life refuge. After the rain the colors were spectacular with a saturation that only comes after a rain. We were all inspired. Jeff sent us a email the next day called “Good Day” and here is a quote describing the day from his perspective.

“a good day painting today, though difficult. The difficulty I’m thinking of is not that of the rain or cold but of the fast changing stupendous beauty of light and cloud and beautiful distant groves constantly changing their attire every time the sky did. Like a couple going out and they keep talking each other out of that dress or that jacket. Each arrangement so startling it drove out the memory of the last!”
